DPP · Compliance Timeline
The digital product passport timeline for textiles
By 2028, no garment will legally reach the EU market without a digital identity. Between now and then, four regulatory milestones will decide which brands walk into the mandate ready and which ones are still rebuilding their supply chain data from scratch. This guide maps every DPP milestone through 2030, and what BCome has already built to meet each one.
THREE QUESTIONS EVERY FASHION BRAND SHOULD BE ABLE TO ANSWER
-
01
Do you know which milestone hits you next?
Six EN standards, a European DPP registry, a fourth JRC preparatory study, a Delegated Act. 2026 alone brings four dates that will define how your data must be structured and most brands are tracking none of them.
-
02
Is your supply chain producing the data the JRC will require?
The final list of mandatory data points per garment is being defined right now, not in 2028. Brands without SKU-level traceability today will spend the next two years catching up instead of complying.
-
03
Will 2028 be a compliance deadline, or a market exit?
When the textile DPP becomes mandatory, garments without one won't just be non-compliant, they won't be sellable in the EU. There is no grace period for brands that started late.
“Is your brand getting ready for the DPP, or waiting to be forced into it?”
